I want t tops, but I know there will be a moment I will have a huge saw in my hand looking at my roof scratching my head, wandering what the hell I'm doing and why I'm about to take a saw to my car based on a few pictures iv'e seen online. Can I count on some of you guys to walk me through it who have done it to your cars? People say it's a lot eazer than it looks, explain? I wanna do it this summer bacause I'm moveing away to college in August.

its really easy, the hardest part is the cutting.. its building the nerve up to chop it! lol

other than that, its making sure its clean and you measure more than twice to make sure you know where your cut is. is there someone close by to you that has done this whole thing?

as you go, if you have questions, just ask, it worked for me. everything is there. I think the ONLY thing I would of done different would of drilled out the spot welds like Tom did instead of taking a dremel to the spot welds..

Thanks. I don't know if anyone is neer me, I'm in seminole florida, it's neer st. Pete witch is relitively neer Tampa. I have a saw's all, a dremal, and a circular saw. I can use the circular saw if I have the right blade right?

Use the dremel and sawzall. You will go through alot of cut-off wheels on the dremmel but its great because of its size and precision. I've searched countless ppl that did it b4 i did it and found ways to make it look neater and easier to do. any questions search for my recent thread.

I have to admit, it was intimidating but I did it, I still have body work to do to it (decided to use my 97 frame instead of fixing the 01) but Im still going to see what it would cost me to swap the t top frame from the 01 stock to the 97. if it cant be done, well I already have the car stripped mostly to the shell, so I'll try to take the C pillar off and swap it, or just deal with building a wall...

its not hard man, its just building up the nerve to do it, Once you have the first cut, your adrenalin starts to pump and it gets fun, then when its all done, you just smile.. personally if you dont tell anyone, i started dancing around like Steve Erkle.. lol without doing the body work, I went out for a drive and had a BLAST!!!

Do it, you wont regret it!
And I have a whole set up for sale! I'll even throw in the trim and weather seal trim precut... that way you dont have to worry about it..

Your in Seminole well I'm in Sanford but I can't provide much help seeing as my car came with T Tops but good luck none the less.

I relly wanna do it now. I relly want to cruze around topples with out haveing to take my shirt off. I love the t top on my dad's vette. Ill PM you archer, my parents might not let me do it and I have to listen to them bacause there helping me pay for college. Just need to find the time this summer. How long did it take you guys?
