Ok so I started painting my rear 2 rims tonight. I followed the write up but I have allot of peel. Do I sand it down and start over? I really dont want to do that lol or can I apply my clear then sand it down and make it look better?
The primer went on fine and I sanded it with 1000 grit. I then applied the paint and its rough in some areas seems to be sticking fine just rough like gritty maybe
I wiped it down after the sanding but I didnt wash it again with soap. I'll try the 1000grit again and add another coat and post up how it turns out thanks.
If it stuck everywhere and it's just not smooth, yes, give it plenty of time to dry, then wetsand 1000 grit til it's smooth. You may then need to add another coat of base, depending on how bad it was.
How smooth should I try to get it, its a bit rough in the corners where the spokes meet the wheel. I got big hands and its a bit hard to sand in there lol
If you're really careful, you can put thicker coats on to kind of fill in the unevenness and smooth it out a bit. But this risks runs and drips, so be very careful. Try sanding it as smooth as you can first.
