  • Polishing my wheels

seems to be going pretty well. I have 150, 220, 1000, and 1500 grit. and rubbing compound. I'm not really aiming for perfection, just add some shine. We'll see. I have some steel wool, probably won't need that. I'm using: http://www.z31.com/repairs/polishfaq.shtml as a guide, sorta adapting it to match the particular grains I have. Pics when I'm done!

I think I'm gonna have to buy more sandpaper, its taking a lot!

might want to try some meguiars aluminum wheel polish. it works better than straight up rubbing compound.

        I have some!:)

but anyway, I worked on one wheel for quite awhile, but I don't think its going to get much better until I get some 600 grit sandpaper. anyway, I took out most of the scratches and got it looking better than it was before, no mirror shine though.

Yeah, 220 to 1000 is a pretty big step.
