  • Finally got to start on my door panel project

After being at the embroidery shop for over 2 months, I finally got my leather back and went at the passenger door panel.

Looks good, when you get it installed I'm curious to see how looks in the car. Why leave the bottom beige and not all black?

I'm trying to work with the two tone until I get some black seats in the car. Before, everything was tan. Now with the black carpet/headliner/kick panels, The seats are starting to stand out more. Once I get either new upholstery or new seats I'll likely ditch the two tone entirely, but until then I'm just trying to get everything to flow.

Cool beans, two tone always kicks ***. Post a pic when you get it installed, I'm curious to see how it all comes together. How hard was the leather to work with? I want to redo my interior but haven't taken any panels off to see how they're constructed.

The leather actually wasn't too bad at all. There were some areas that I could've used a bit longer staples, but I worked around it and got it all to work. The biggest pain was the interior weatherstripping at the top that contacts the window. In order to get that off, it ended up pretty mangled, and because it's metal, I can't use hte staple gun. I'll probably use small screws, I guess I'll find out what works best.

                            i'm doing the same thing.

walmart has the leather fabric right?

i wanna do my seats but i need more info on how to do it. i dont want to sew lines all done the seats. i want it be flat. i might as well just buy a lether seat cover.

Yeah I tried this.. and pretty much failed because of the ****ing weather stripping that you are talking about.. Apparently somehow, it got bent, so when I bent it back into place, it looks like ****. This was probably like 8 months ago or so.. so I have black on the drivers side, and stock cloth on the passenger side.. lol.

My staple gun wasn't strong enough to get through that hard plastic panel.. So I basically had to glue most of it. I forgot how I got the perimeter to stay good.. but the part that slips under the weather stripping looks like **** and it's embarrassing.. How did you get the leather under it? You took off the entire weather stripping? How did you get the staples out?
