I'm looking at painting my interior panels black and replacing my carpet with a molded black carpet. Anyone have any suggestions on getting the best look while doing it without it turning out looking like some cheesy painted honda plastic? Paint, adhesion etc?

    Re: Painted interior.

Go to a good paint shop. My carquest has a great paint shop and I got everything I needed including plastic/vinyl prep (cleaner), adhesion promoter, and SATIN black paint for plastics. The cleaner and adhesion promoter are for longevity, the sheen of the paint determines how it will look. Satin will get you closest to the look of new plastics. If you want more or less gloss, you can go for semi-flat or semi-gloss, but I wouldn't go much farther in either direction if you want it to look fairly stock.

I recently replaced my carpet, purchased from this place:

    http://www.auto-interior.com/chevy3....dy16U-g#CAMARO

They are the factory direct source for accmats.com, which if you'll notice, costs much much more. When shipped from above link, the carpet came in "ACCMATS.COM" boxes.

goto walmart and buy the Satin Black paint by krylon.

dont try flat black paint then try to put satin clearcoat on top. i tried it and it was hard to keep the clearcoat even. just get the satin black. alot easier.

I wouldn't recommend krylon fusion, however, with the right products, it is very possible to make it look good. I've painted much of my dash and entire center console and kick panels with the above station method and you would never know it's painted, it just looks new and clean.

did you guys clear coat when done? I was wondering if that would help protect from scuffs or if its just overkill.

I hit the local gm dealership. I may just order new interior panels.
