    Re: clear coat peeling

what the crap is laundry powder.... anyways, I always tell people never use the brush at the self serve car wash, never go through any car wash that's not completely touchless, i don't even let people dry my car with a towel if i don't know where that towel has been.

The peeling of the clearcoat is for many reasons but mostly all the times i have seen it has been due to incorrect clear mixture, or it's just a cheap brand of clear coat. Next summer i am going to repaint my car because for the past couple years it has been my daily driver and has seen some road wear, but i wax my car at least once a week and it always keeps a great shine. If you get your car repainted I suggest that you spend some extra money and get the expensive clear. It will be much more durable and keep it's shine longer. There is a reason why one clear coat is 100 dollars a gallon and another is 700.

I will definitely get the expensive clear. Thing is though I have never had my car painted, that is the factory paint job. And, I am the original owner.
