you will need new intake mani gaskets you can get a kit from autozone for less than $15 i believe. as for the valve covers, you can reuse if ur carefull and dont rip it.

its a 2 piece manifold. there are 2 bolts in the back that are tricky to get to. you'll need angle joints

the bottom piece after the top manifold is removed, there is a bolt in the front left intake port, and 1 in the back right intake port aswell as the others on the sides. take your time remember where your bolts go, you'll be fine. its more of a PITA than skill.. get a manual, it'll show you where the bolts are exactly...

to do it right, your better off dropping your motor, but of course not all of us have that time..
MISC: 01 parts. Some interior, T top kit, seats etc.

you really dont need to drop the motor to take out the upper intake. just take off the fuel rails and everything thats in front of it out then unbolt it and take it out. theres not much room so its annoying but its really not bad. as for the valve covers, drivers side is easy, just remove the bolts. passenger side has a bolt in the back of it that is straight out of hell. ridiculously hard to reach and good luck with it. just remember where everything went and take your time and use a manual if you need to and you should be fine.

I don't think Archer was saying that you need to drop the motor to remove the intake. You do, however, really need to take the motor out (and alot more) if you're serious about painting the engine bay. In fact, why on earth would you need to remove the intake manifold and valve covers to paint the engine bay? Or are you referring to painting the intake and valve covers??
