    Hey everyone,
I'm new to the site and have a question about painting the roof rail on my 99 camaro. It's a T-top car, and I was wondering if there was any way to remove the rear roof rail in order to paint it. Right now it's the same color as the body, but it's full of scratches. I don't want to waste time masking everything off If I don't have to. Thanks for any replies.

Archer might know a little more about this. If I remember correctly, you can peel the roof skin off with some sort of piano wire. But you have to be VERY careful not to crack it. Maybe he can be a little more specific.

it would take forever to do it. i did my t top conver. so i know about the "wire" but trust me. it's very hard. i would never do that and think that i can reuse the same panel. i still have my roof, and trust me no way it could go back on.
