Recently I've put some extra cash into my lighting system and got some smoke housing dual halo projector headlights for my '02 3.8, and for all intensive purposes...i love them...but I wanted to go one step further and convert them to full hid xenons so i bought some kits for low beams and fog lights from some poor excuse for a company at hidwholesaler.com. This was election night (Nov 4th)...
Not only did I receive the wrong bulb type which wouldn't work for my application, but it took them close to 3 weeks to get them to me...then once i tried to exchange the bulbs for the right ones...they ignore my exchange request (email only apparently) and i've never been able to contact them.
So I blow the extra money to get the right bulbs on ebay and took everything to my very trusted mechanic to help with the install....and apparently all of the ballasts are bad and ended up smoking and shorting out within minutes of heating up...wtf?? The guys at my garage know their stuff and are the only ppl I've let work on my car over the past several years...
Is anyone here experienced with the hid conversions for our fbodies?? I've never heard of someone with this much trouble out of them...they're supposed to be so simple. I ordered 894's for the fogs and H3's for my halos (9006's do not work with them). My mechanic said to get some new ballasts from a different place and we'll try again. Am I missing something guys??
