I was washing my car today, as i was wiping down my mirror, i hear a pop and then the mirror just flips one way. The plastic that holds in one of the 3 wires (manual mirrors) seems to have broken. I'm going to try to use some epoxy and ghetto rig it to work again. Anyhow, when i was reassembling it, i couldn't seem to figure out how to put the controller piece (the little bar you use to adjust the mirror) into the plastic interior trim. I assume it only goes in 1 way, and locks in place or something, but i tried rotating it all sorts of ways to no avail. Possible i dropped something when i removed it? The only thing i saw was a metal clip.. don't know where it clips to exactly though.

edit - also, on a car with manual mirrors, is it prewired for power mirrors? as in, could i put a power manual without having to wire it?

Negative on that, you would have to custom wire it yourself, or get a whole new harness.

I had a manual mirror with the cable, when I broke it , I put in a power mirror and just tucked the wire inside and put a a regular blank triangle pieceon for the inside. Then just moved the mirror to where I wanted it and left it at that.
