one stipe or two

a few months ago i was at a gas station on ft. lewis when the guy in front of me got tired of waiting his turn in line, put his lifted jeep Cherokee in reverse and smashed the gas pedal to the floor. needless to say i was behind him. and he then, was on top of me. literally. after i pulled the pucker marked seat from out my butt i calmly walked over and asked him, "seriously man.....how do you not see a bright orange camaro with white stripes? its got the same color theme as a traffic cone! seriously!" :banana:

but now my predicament. one stripe or two. i took this opportunity to cash in for some much needed upgrades, new head lights, clear corners, clear marker lights, new composite hood, fixing a few dents and dings throughout, and a fresh coat of paint to finish it all off. my car had the retro stripes on it giving a nod to its heritage, but the paint shop threw me some options stating the retro stripes might not work well with the new hood. they taped out what their painters thought would look nice. and damnit i cant decide. i have until Monday to decide, i wanna hear your opinions! thanks!!

I would have to say no stripes.

I havent seen a camaro with an SS hood that had stripes on it that I actually liked.

However I do like the top of the scoop painted, or the inside of the scoop painted. Not really sure how it would look with 1 stripe.
So my vote is
"undecided"

I say no stripes. Paint the scoop black and that's it.

Ilike the way you have it taped off, but I don't like a single stripe going the rest of the way to the rear.

If it were me, I'd paint the scoop Black (the way you have it taped), and keep the rest of the car a solid red.

I also don't see the need for a Poll here because you're probably going to get a vast number of opinions from everyone who responds.

im wanting to paint it white with a little orange pearl to make it "pop"

im not so crazy about a single stripe in the back.. but want something back there for the continuity of it.

orange?? looks red.

Definitely do the manta. I like the white/orange pearl idea. Dont do anything in the back, trust me.

DUDE!!! no way! It is a smalllllllll world..... I was there and witnessed that dude roll over your car. The bright orange one. I saw that car, I was pumping gas in my 2000 ss and just watched this guy roll back and I was thinking... "this guy MUST see that BRIGHT *** car there..." but he didn't. Nice to see you on the boards. It was kinda funny though, you were so calm, like, "How could you miss it man?" I say 2 stripes. its a nice car.

HA HA HA it really is a small world. that guy was totally freaked about it. pretty sure he felt bad, after all... he just parked his bucket on my shiny shiny.

on another note i got some ideas about what direction to guide the paint shop, if anyone has any good pictures of how to make two stripes work while still giving a retro nod, i'd like to see

Thats what Im talking about... I just wish my Camaro was yellow too.. I love yellow camaros.... I think thats what Im going to do to my hood when I get it painted with the black inside of the scoop
