  • T-top issue

Ok, this is DEFINITLY not a new topic, but I heard from someone that all t-tops leak with heavy rain. This kind of made me wonder as I picked up the A and C pillars and the center mohawk from the local scrap yard to start my t-top transformation.

Is it true, or is he just blowing smoke up my ars?

Water only comes through mine when going through a car wash because of all the pressure.

water has only leaked through my ttops in a touchless carwash cause of the highpressure, and occasionally if my car has been sitting in the rain and i slow to a stop (the water runs down through the cap between the window and the weatherstripping. i plan on re-weatherstripping my car soon anyways. Convertibles from past experience leak more in the rain then ttop camaros do

x3 on the occasional wash leaks...it only leaks rarely if i take her to a self-serve wash and use the pressure sprayer, which i'd expect with all that force behind the water jetting out. otherwise, she practically never leaks even in the heavy rains, even in all the elements outside in the parking complex where i have to keep her for now. after i get some decent sfc's i expect what little leaks i have to be gone. mine did leak....i just played around with the weatherstripping and it stopped leaking. I wouldn't mind having a leaky top, its worth it. t-tops are awesome.

that is a pro of doing the convert. yourself. when i did mine i made my seal so tight.

she doesn't leak at all. than again she doesn't come out in the rain hahah

                    Re: T-top issue

Yep, only in car washes, and even then very very little, and it's an easy fix, unfortunately I locked my T-Tops then lost the key, so until I can get a key made, they will leak slightly in rare occasions.

And like some have said, if they ever do leak, it's easy as cake to adjust the weatherstripping or add a bit of adhesive wherever the leak is coming from and get rid of it. The design is so much better than 3rd gens it's ridiculous.
