Here's my trap door on a 98, I followed the directions on where to cut in one of the popular guides floating around. I could have painted it or took a little more time with the sealent. But who cares it's covered by the carpet anyway. As long as no fumes/moisture are getting in car.

Thanks everyone for the info. I will be doing the mod in the next couple of weeks, so I will be sure to take pictures and post them asap. It will be on a 1996 model, so maybe it will help others.
I followed Joe Speda's instruction on doing a cut out in order to access the fuel pump. Ofcourse mine turn out somewhat messy. I duct tape it once I was done. Thank goodness for the carpet covering it.
I plan on doing the same thing for my 3rd gen soon.
