wow.. beats paying $200 and some bucks for a nice glossy black one... did you have to sand anything down to make it smooth, anything to fill in the plate bracket? I've been trying to figure it out on how to take the bracket off without having those damn holes in there.

      Good job bud

I actually took it to a shop. I had both front ground effects repainted (they were both silver before) and the grille done for 150.

I bought a new grille from a gm stealership for 50 so there were no holes in it. the guy at the shop said it took quite a bit of sanding because of the texture of grille. But it is a very smooth finish with e-gay decals.

Really 48 bones is all stock grilles cost. Lots of peeps don't know that. They're only like 20-30ish on gmpartsdirect iirc.

well....the plate is in the back seat LOL! i drive the car very very rarely so what i did was made up a fake back order notice that says i have an slp front plate bracket from an online f-body store that has been back ordered (it looks very legit) . i change the date when ever i take the car out so it looks recent. i have only been pulled over once, told the cop i just got the work done, show them the "back order" notice and im on my way no questions asked.

i did mine myself. sold the car though. the guy keeps saying he's getting a grill to put in there. is it actually necessary to mount that to a stock grill? i though you would mount it to the bumper cover. i like the stock grill thing painted better than the one you pay 150 dollars for else where.

That looks excellent. I've been wanting to do the same but the damn clips on mine don't seem to want to let loose. I'm afraid of cracking something with how much I tried pulling.

                          Still, that looks great.

As far as I know. That's how I got it off the silver one. The black one doesn't want to budge.
