  • still having HID problems...

so in a nutshell, before my passenger side bulb would turn on and then shut itself off really fast forcing me to turn the headlights off and back on again, until they BOTH ignited. well, I switched the driverside and passenger side bulbs to see if it was the ballast or the bulb, and now the driverside is doing it. So I say to myself, must be the bulb, so I left the bulb that was originally in the DS in the PS and replaced the "bad" bulb. Now the driverside is still flickering off when I turn them on and it forces me to do the same thing. Shut it off and back on till they both ignite. I have disabled the auto headlight and it still does this. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

    Re: still having HID problems...

good news, i'm finally gonna put in the relay harnesses first thing in the morning along with my suspension upgrades...so i'll have feedback for you when i'm back from work tomorrow night. i've heard ppl say the auto headlight affects things, but you and i are having the same problem and i dont have mine disabled...so obviously it's not a factor.

i guess we'll both find out more tomorrow.

        Re: still having HID problems...

just got back from wrestling with the lights...and it seems the relays are the answer to our problems  my fogs no longer flicker and go out or need to be blinked to come on, and the headlights work fine (although i have a faulty ballast to replace). it took some patience, but i think the relays are the best thing to do. i ordered mine for 20.

This may be way off base, but I know my HIDs ballast box/ignitor plugs into the headlight harness, then goes to the HID bulb. Is the connection solid? I took a wire tie and tightend it together, just to make sure that it didn't come loose. May not be the problem, but keeping it simple.

              Re: still having HID problems...

I only had problems with the HIDs I ordered from China (bad bulb& ballast) , who then ripped me off after I sent them back , said I never sent them. I then ordered from a guy in Cali and both fogs and low 6000K's work real well, no problems for about 6 months now. I put electrical tape around my connections and wire tied them up well so they didn't move.

sorry man, i dont have pics of the relays. i got mine from a trustworthy ebay store ("Silviaman") which has great customer service. call 1-877-783-5198 and ask for Jerry, he's very helpful and can fill you in about the relays.

i've done everything including relays and either my 6000k fogs or headlights (mainly the fogs) sometime don't turn on
