  • 97 Camaro 6300K just NOT cutting it

Right now I have the sealed beam conversion with 6300K bulbs in the stock housings... Looks really nice but the performance isnt really there... Ive read alot around the form about HID kits but most of them are for the 98+ Camaro. I was thinking about buying one of the HID conversion kits that come with the Ballast wiring and what not. Is it possible to wire these to my stock wiring and possibly use a 8000k Bulb safely in the stock housing. I was worried about heat and what not. I really dont wanna go out and buy PIAA or anything i just wanna keep the stock housing but convert to HID *I know its not TRUE HID* But it is what it is. Thanks for any help guys.

HIDS put off less heat , my 96' Camaro has 6000k HIDS low/fog lights with stock housings and they work very well. Both was plug and play for the wiring, the only bulb I had to seal up was the low beams with silicone. The fog light went right in like factory. I mounted the low beam ballasts in the engine bay on the corners and the fogs mounted on the bottom frame up front using their mounting brackrts.
