  • The Black Box--Photoshoot!

Spent 4-5 hours with the new product based on reviews here. I'd say I'll definitely give two thumbs up!:tup: Drove around the country on the second nice day of the year here in Oregon, and out of about 125 pictures, here are a few that I like.

I thought I had a cool idea for this one, lining up the white line with the angle of the camera. I think it turned out pretty decent.

Then I pulled off and was waiting for the sunset to get some material for a really nice HDR shot with the sun, and took this testing out the lighting in the camera..

Then I decided it was time to set up the shot, and when I went to start the car...rurr..rurr...rurrrr...... Nice guy stopped by after a few minutes of waiting, and tried to jump me but the battery wasn't the problem. The starter solenoid went out, so I had to get a ride home...

Don't have access to photoshop on this computer so I just fixed the brightness and contrast real quick. Obviously could look much better with some work in PS. I better get a copy on here.

I like them, except for the towing part. Sorry to hear that did your car have any signs that it was going out or did it just die? You can see in the pics it's like glass showing the reflections of everything around the car. Nice job. Did you get a new starter yet? Or do you have the GM Goodwrench lifetime warrany on it?

Scholotzky i love your car bud, i dig that shark fin antenna, and i think that the second last picture of your camaro with the sunset should definently be a calendar pic

The only sign was the time before it stopped starting, it took roughly twice as long to start..which granted is still much less than your average car, so I thought nothing of it. Next time was a no go.

There was one in stock at Autozone..Brand new for 185 and a lifetime warrenty. The new starter sounds likes the starters on new cars..I hate it; high pitched and whiney. But I'll get used to it.

              Re: The Black Box--Photoshoot!

Thats sounds about right , when my starter went awhile back like 9 years ago it did the same thing basicly no warning signs, pissed me off and had to tow it, in town though. $185 isn't bad considering a lifetime warranty for the starter. I can see in the one pic your hood, your right I think because it is the biggest flat spot it would turn out so well. Like a big mirror. I can't get over how well it reflects everything around it. Bad@ss. I'll get mine done this week for sure.

Next time that happens (hopefully never), try whacking the starter with a hammer. I got stranded in the parking lot at work, same situation as yours.. went back inside the store, grabbed a hammer from the office, and wha la.. started right up. Now I never leave home without a hammer and some tools in the car.

                    Great pictures though man!

I use to be able to jump start my 83' cavilier by touching the hot wire to the solenoid with a screwdriver when it went out, got me home at least. It would click it so you had one try at cranking it over then it would lose it's power again in the solenoid. It got me home at least, I don't know if it would work on our F-bodys though.

                        WOW!!!

It looks great. It's really shiny and black. I love what you did with your headlight.

It's weird seeing that tow truck though, but hey I bet it looks good on that tow truck.

Antenna looks like your mom's taint, and the wheels look fresh out of her treasure chest.

                              haha, nothing but honesty.

the chrome Z06s are going on soon as it gets nice and stays nice. Within the next couple months.

As for the antenna, not a day I regret it. I always looked at the car and thought it needed something to take the smoothness from the body line and just add a bit of sport, and I really think I got it. I like it, and it's functional, so that's what matters.
