removing spray paint

when i bought my car it had overspray on the actual door from the last owner spray painting the door panels. Is there any product or method that can remove the spray paint without harming the factory paint?

You can try clay bar, or a light rubbing compound, but it probably won't remove it.

Next step is taking 1500 or 2000 grit sandpaper and sanding it smooth, then polishing it up again wit polishing compound.

I used Lacquer Thinner once to remove some spraycan overspray on one of my cars. Worked great! It took about 2 minutes, and the spraypaint was gone. *BUT*...you must take extreme caution when using it. If you apply too much pressure to the area, it can and will eat through the clearcoat.

I lightly applied it on the overspray, then used a dry micro-towel to lightly rub it away. I did that a few times and the spraypaint came off with relative ease.

Afterwards, apply a few good coats of wax to the area.

^^ That may work too, depending on the original amount of wax on the area, the amount of time the overspray has been there, and other factors. Try that first, but yes, be very careful!
