  • anybody with a painted upper/lower intake and valve covers??

id like to see some in car pics of painted upper and lower intakes + valve covers if you guys have them. im cleaning up the spare parts i have and i am going to paint them with some 900 degree paint but im not sure what colors i am wanting to go with. i was thinking black but id like to be able to spot any possable leaks on the lower intake so im thinking about silver with some red or black accents and letters. any pics you guys have would help out alot!! thanks guys.

Post Your Engine Bay Pictures Here!

Also be sure to check out the Online Car Show threads linked in one of the stickies in the Body/Appearance section. Those tend to have good shots too.

this is probably a dumb question, but to paint the valve covers and intake, do you have to pull the engine?
it sits back there a ways and i don't know if those are easily accessible parts. i'd like to do something with mine too, but it looks like a huge pain in the ***.

not for valve covers and intake, no, but you would need to buy all new gaskets if you pulled them... I would wait until you're ready to do a few other things first so you're not JUST pulling them to paint them... but if it's worth it to you go for it... the Haynes manual is pretty helpful for these types of things
