You might try to find one of the build sheets under one of the seats, carpet or headliner.

Sometimes they can be found in the glove box if not under the rear seat.

If you call GM they will at least up until January of this year they would give you build info on any car dating back to 1935. All they needed was the Vin of the Vehicle and there was I believe a 50 Dollar charge for processing.

there is a guy on another forum that will do that for free, all you need to do is give him your vin

he will give you a ton of info about your car, including what dealership it first sold at, and on what date it was sold

My RPO sheet is in my glove box. I'd check there first.

Necro-post... I have the same problem. Only after taking a 4 D-cell maglite to my door jamb did I notice there's a faint outline of where an RPO code sticker used to be (98 firebird). Do I have to tear up my car to look for a 'build sheet'? (I dunno what that is...)

                      I read it, chief.

No, it's not in my glove box.

Someone else posted that they knew someone who could look it up for free. They didn't say WHO. If there's a way to not have to pay 50 bucks for literally 3 bytes of information, I'd like to know. Upon reading this thread you'd see this part of the conversation is still as of yet unresolved. Maybe you'd be willing to pay 50 bucks before making a FREE forum post, but I'm a poor student and don't have that luxury. Sorry if I sound touchy.
