Where did you get the 'equipment'......body prep/paint work is on my list of things to learn, we have a 33 gal compressor that I think would do the job for some small stuff and I've been eyeing some cheap tools at harbor freight for a spray gun.
A 33 gal. compressor will work just fine. I buy all of my paint and body equipment at 2 different local bodyshops in Bristol, PA. One is the Mechanic's Tool, and the other is Bill Flannery's.

Kristen, I'll give you a call once I have some free time. I have about 6 more manifolds to finish, a bumper, spoiler, custom airbrushing on a set of front fenders, and a fewother jobs I'm sure that I'm currently forgetting about. All while I'm working my regular full-time job too. That's why I needed to get away this weekend:D

Why do the two of you have different locations under your screen name??

          Shawn (OrHoweverYouSpellIt),
Yes, you can use HVLP sprayguns from harborfreight. I've used one of theirs that costed me $40, and it actually worked pretty well. I used it on a computer tower cover, and I was actually impressed with the paint distribution it gave off. Would I use it on my car?...No, but it's definitely good to practice with! This is it: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=43430

If you're going to practice on spraying, invest in a good breathing mask FIRST! Don't skimp and buy one of those crappy doctor's mask's. They do nothing!

Lower Pottsgrove is a township in Pottstown, she likes to be specific I guess heh...It's Shaun but I honestly don't care how you spell it, all spellings sound the same heh.

yea $40 to try out isn't bad, what does a decent gun go for?

let me rephrase that, what does a decent gun go for that won't break the bank. :)

I currently use a DeVilbiss Finishline 2 (discontinued). They're currently selling finishline 3's now, and they go for about $110. DeVilbiss Finishline guns work good, and your 30 gallon compressor will fit it nicely. A larger compressor is always better, but the one you have should do just fine.

I'm hoping that by next summer, I'll have a SATA...something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Sata-...motiveQ5fTools

I'm going to give Kristen a call sometime this week and ask what she wants to do with her camaro. I know she wants painted stripes, but there's alot of black color choices to go with. She can do black metallic, black candy with an underlying base, black pearl, standard black, etc.

I sprayed another manifold today. The basecoat was silver metallic, but I layed down a red sunset pearl mid-coat on top before the clearcoat. It came out real nice! I'm getting ready to airbrush some dark red metallic flames on it now.

110 is reasonable, I can spend half and get a half decent spray gun or spend the extra money and get a better one that will hold it's value more if I decide to unload it.

So is your wife gonna let you come out and play on Thurs?

I have used two different brands. One is through Sherwin Williams (automotive finishes), and it's their Ultra 7000 brand. It's a bit expensive, but I think it's worth it.

The second is Deltron 2000 PPG. <<That's what I used on my hood.

Yeah, it's a good gun for $110. Try to get something between a 1.3 to a 1.5 tip. My gun has a 1.4 tip. For primers, I use a harborfreight gun with a 1.8 tip.

So far, it looks good for thursday. I actually forgot about it until I read this :D
I'm getting some work done to the exterior of my house on thursday & friday, and I don't want to leave until they're done each day. What time you plan on getting to Atco?

Gates open at 4:30pm so I plan on getting there when they open to get in some early runs. My uncle should be there with his trans am and a few other friends as well.
