Having trouble with the white face gauge overlays...
Having trouble with the white face gauge overlays...
hey guys so i bought a set of white face gauge overlays/covers for my 01 camaro and im having a bit of trouble installing them. I have taken off the black plastic ring thingy that lays over the edges of the the gauge cluster, and now cannot find a way to get the clear plastic glass piece off of the actual gauges. Once i get that cover off, i can just go and put the white face gauge covers over the stock ones. Can anyone help me out? pictures would be great but if not its fine.
If I cant get it to work, i will sell the white face gauge overlays for $15 for whoever wants them! free shipping haha!

i dont remember exactly but when i did mine after the bezel came out, you can take and remove the whole speedo assembly with the glass still on it. once you get that out i believe there will plastic clip pins on the side going all around the speedo.
not 100% sure, someone else will clear it up im sure

Re: Having trouble with the white face gauge overlays...
first you remove the bezel, like two bolts hold it in, after this pull it straight out, if needed remove the plastic piece that hides the signal/ wiper wires and the tilt stick...this should just unscrew, that makes it easier to remove the bezel. once you are in just pull the entire gauge out as a whole like ^^truekoa stated above, then the plastic clear piece can be removed. it clips over the actual speedo. put the overlays on and reinstall..hoped this helped at least a lil bit..i also replaced the bulbs while i had mine out with some that lit up blue
Re: Having trouble with the white face gauge overlays...
well it says in the installation guide its "easy to do" you just have to take off the clear plastic cover that covers the dashboard then slide the gauge covers on, you arent supposed to take the whole cluster out.
i really want to get them installed cause i think they woudl look great

dont know if you plan on replacing your bulbs now, but if you do its real simple on the back side of the speedo just turn the bulb sockets and they'll come out, replace your bulbs and put em back, plug and play.
some bulbs are polarized, which mine were, so they have different sides for input. if they dont come on when you put them back in the dash, take them out and turn the bulb around in the socket.
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
