e brake handle

I broke my old console pulling it out but it was fine since i had a newer one rdy to go in.

im ready to put it back but the e brake is in the way. even when all the way up, with the shifter all the way back i still cant squeeze it in enough without breaking something.

there is a screw in the handle but i cant seem to get it out. if i get it out will that be enough for it to slide through the plastic covering on the console? are there any tips or tricks to get it out. how do you put ur lower console in if that thing is in the way?

car is 98 camaro auto trans

I believe there is a clip on the leather part somewhere

I manage to wiggle mine on with the seat leaned all the way back and just working it around it.

i got it in, man it was a major PITA.

i had to wiggle it around ALOT, i thought i was going to break it again. the nut i had in the handle had been rounded out by the previous owner so i couldnt remove it.

but i got it in with just a few scuffs, thanks every1
