  • lowering spring recomendations...

    Hey all,
So I am going to order a bunch of suspension upgrades for my 2k ss so when I get home I can go to town... anyways, I am looking into lowering springs (see link) and was wondering if they'd be a good choice. I dont want to lower it too much, but that seems to be the best I can find. Anyone know if they're good quality? If not, recommend me somthing... I want it to be just a little lower, not drastically, and I don't want to compromise safety and ride quality. I still want a comfortable car...

    Re: lowering spring recomendations...

the sportlines will be really low, especially considering you have gfx. id reccomend the pro kit over the sportlines.

im not really familiar with any other aftermarket springs than eibach.

you should definitely change your shocks if you still have the stock ones.

isnt there that guy that has his own springs and custom valved bilstein shocks to go with em? all i remember is the stock bilsteins changed and theyre really not very good any more.

other than that theres the kyb shocks on the lower end of the price scale and konis way up there. most people, iirc, have been happy with the kyb agx's.

          Re: lowering spring recomendations...

I'd recommend the Hotchkis lowering springs as the best all around performing, and on paper, the most comfortable of the lowering springs. They dropped my car no more than an inch, and the car became even more comfortable than it was with the stock springs. This is because they are progressive rate, so they have rates similar to that of a stock spring, but quickly stiffen up as the coils compress to give great handling.

Shlotzky, where'd you buy them from and how much? I am going to do a search, but might as well ask. I have heard hotchkis is pretty good, sounds like what I want, a comfy ride and an inch drop. thanks in advance.
