Firebird Daytime Running Lights/Turn Signals

The lenses on these things look pretty crappy when the lights are not on. I wanted to replace them with a different fog / running light that was also amber, but a see through kind of lense. I was wondering if I went with something like this and it used HID bulbs, would my Turn Signals still work, or should I find something that can take the 4157NA bulb?

HIDs won't work for turn signals.

If you use LEDs, they will be straight clear when off, and light up amber. Or you could use silverstars, which have a blue-mirror tint to them, and light up a deep amber. Very nice looking.
