I may need to install a gauge soon...where are you guys installing them if not on the pillars...I don't like the look of them up there, I want to maintain as much of a factory look as possible. I'm even hesitant about doing the side vent, because even that is a little conspicous, but atleast its a little better then the pillars...

Has anyone put it in the ashtray? or made it be able to flip up from the ashtray so that you could see it when you need to, but hide it when you dont?

Ashtray idea sounds pretty good. I don't know if you've have your console out, but it is a pretty thin plastic and the access in that particular area should be plenty deep enough for a gauge. Or you could mount it a little bit deeper into the cassette holder area.

I can't do the cassette holder area because thats where my Gps is...fits perfectly, almost as if they made that spot exactly for it...

I'd like to mount it deep in the ash tray, but I was also thinking about maybe buying one of those single gauge pods like this (but not CF)

and mounting that in the ashtray location...that would make it very visibile, it would actually kind of be set up similar to the gauges on the new camaro I think....Just not sure how it would really look...especially because it will only be a fuel pressure gauge...

I personally don't think that would look very stock though, but that is an option.

I mounted my volt meter for my amp in the ashtray. Lid down hidden, lid up there it is, simple clean, use the power and ground from the light.

ive seen people put a switch fo cut outs in the astray but not a gauge, but that would be pretty cool. maybe put it in the little cubby infront of the shifter?

Crap thats small I can't really see how it's in there...you have anything bigger?

Looks like a clean install though, do you have a write up on how you did that...from what I can see, that is pretty much exactly what I want to do...

Ha Ha, still gota work on enlarging them, feel free to pass on suggestions. I guess my wife decided it was time I learned since I just went back to school. Anyway I still have to do some clean up work, all I did was use a cheap gauge surround cut it the width of the ashtray, made a couple of cuts in the ashtray and it drops in. I'll make a cover for it when I get time. I spliced the light wire for power and ground then ran the wires to the amp, not necessary but always wanted it.

what did you use for the surround piece?

I use a cheap chrome bezel that came from an autozone autometer knock off gauge, you can use a piece of hard plastic an a key hole saw to make one, I just wanted to see if it would work, good thing it did, lol. I think all single gauges come with the piece I'm talking about. If I figure out how to enlarge the pics. you'll even be able to see and area towards the drive has room for a switch.

I think I'm going to put my bass control knob in it, don't need that either but it helps for SQ. And then there's the coolness factor.
