Sun visors in the Bird are a tad on the skimpy size. Not only do they not extend down very far, they are not very long either. Especially when swung over the the door window.
Anyone swap in visors from another vehicle that fit well?
Its just that I have a long drive east into the sun early in the AM when the sun is rising, so I like large and wide visors. Not so bad going home, because I leave work at 3:00pm.
BTW, the Merc Mountaineer has visors that extend sideways if anyone ever wants an "adjustable" visor. They also have a double visor setup, where one can be swung to the side window, and the other left in front. May have to get some of those.
Also have to keep the windshield clean or there is that nasty "white out" when the sun hits the windshield dead on. I found a small squeegee worked great for cleaning my Camaro windshield, so I looked around and still had it! Now its in the 'Bird.
I know this is a little late in the game on this post, but I recovered my visors. The previous one's were pretty ratty and dirty. I stipped the material off and removed the cardboard (which holds the shape). I then cut out my own cardboard design, which was similar to the original, but about 1/2 inch longer and 1/2 inch wider. Once I had the cardboard measured correctly, I wrapped each piece in black leather and glued them together. The first one doesn't look great, as you can see some of the superglue residue, but for a first time custom job, and about 1 hour worth of work, it looks better than the old one's.
I will post a pic tonight to show you the result. Will eventually redo the leather, just need to find some time.
Also redid my dash cover with the same black leather...came out pretty good considering the dash cover was cracked all over.
