What do i look for on numbers to know what gears i have in my rear end.

on the driver side , its going to say GU4 or GU5 or GU6

yup, look on the side of the door, or glove compartment depending on year of car

GU4=3.08
GU5=3.23
GU6=3.42

also, i think gu2 is 2.73, i forgot which code is for 2.73, but if your car is auto it might be 2.73

those were only in v8 cars... v6 autos had 3.08 or 3.42

u wont have 2.73s unless u swapped in a rear end from a v8

3.73's are a good choice you'll need a 3 series carrier and all that good stuff.

that being said i don't think it will be worth the money right now to replace them. maybe later on down the road.

Gu6 then you have 3.42's , so I wouldn't be in a hurry to swap if it was me.
