I have a chance to get a fully built dog box with straight cut gears up here, for a very reasonable price. The only problem is that it's out of a mustang... I think it's an 89, that doesn't really matter what matters is that it's a 5.0 stang. So whats different ?
I've done a search! and could find anything asking this specific question.
Or if anyone knows the P/N for the firebird T5 that would also help :)
They said I would need a new input shaft and a custom bell housing because of the different bolt pattern.
For the trouble of changing the bolt pattern on the bell housing I've decided just to stick with GM transmissions. Although just to let everyone know that it is not impossible to do!
No the bolt pattern on the case is different, according to Gforce. I will investigate further this summer, but according to the experts it's different. Shifter location is apparently the exact same spot.
Mustangs have like a 18 degree shifter location difference, I was going to get a built T5 by a local performance shop in town and I remember them telling me that. But I had a stroke and had to swap to a auto which I like the auto better so far easier to build up and cheaper to build to hold alot more power.
