I got a used possi unit not too long ago and just orederd 4.10 gears so they should be here soon. Im going to do the install myself and was wondering how many of you guys have dont this and if anyone has gotten away with reusing the bearings.

Ive never done rearend work befor but im confident i can do it. I have a dial indicator to measure backlash and reading a wear pattern isent to hard, just gotta take your time and do it untill its right. How much would main stud caps actually help? I have some slicks im wanting to use so a little stonger would be nice.

most people just reause the original shims and come out pretty good i think but after cheaking back lash with the dial indicator a little paint on the gears should tell me if there set up right. what do i need the pinion depth tool for?Last edited by taylor.o1; 03-29-2010, 11:20 AM.
