Re: need a fast answer
I'm pretty sure the clutch needs to be removed, but I'm not 100%... but as for the second question, you can get one at Sears for like $25Rebuilding the engine... Building a custom front end... T-top conversion... Custom rear hatch..
Custom interior...

Re: need a fast answer
If your lucky the steel braided hydraulic line will pop right off like it supposed to.
Its probably possible to get the pilot bushing out and back in with the clutch in place, but practically you will be removing it. All due respect; I'll bet if you went to a GM service department and smiled real big you would be leaving with a plastic alignment tool that comes with most replacement clutches. Alot of guys throw them in their tool box after putting a clutch in.

Re: need a fast answer
We have countless aligners at the shop I work at.
Another method you can try for free* is using hydraulics.
Pack the space behind the bearing with grease, like chassis grease, and get a socket or better a bolt, that fits as close as possible, within a mm. and smack the socket in. What will "should" happen, is the grease will try to compress, and it'll push the bearing out a little bit.
Repack grease and repeat. Cheap, usually easy, and you dont have to buy tools. But really I only use this method when its on a very small pilot bearing.
