Question about my transmission

I was trying to find some info on what transmission i have in my car... stumbled upon something in the tech database and it appears i have the 4l60e tranny (m30 rpo code). Is this pretty common as being the "stock" tranny in our cars.. or at least the newer camaro's (mines an '01). Also, isn't that the same tranny the ls1's have? If so i'm thinking i'd like to do an engine swap in the future :rock:

All autos were 4L60E....can't be sure, but its possible the 93 or so could have been a 4L60.

i believe you are correct, the 93 had the 4l60, which should the the same as the 700r4, and the 94+ has the 4l60e, which is the same trans as the 4l60, but electronic.

the transmissions are the same, but i dont think they are interchangeable between the v6 and the ls1 due to the bellhousing.

Why not? 4L60e's for LSx cars are WAY cheap. You can get one for $300-400 all day. Just know that you can not use the Corvette 4L60e.
