sometimes when i get on my car the clutch will slip like crazy but if i shift or get on it again it will hold just fine in both instances my foot is off the clutch pedal. im thinking it might be a master or slave cylender(slave is all dry though). i have bleed the clutch recently due to no fluid in the resivoir when i first bought the car. any help please.

If it's slipping with your foot OFF of the pedal then your issue is not hydraulic. I would suspect the clutch disc or pressure plate.-Travis
99 Trans Am, Pewter, A4 Forged, stalled, and cammed
85 Buick Regal WH1 T-Type It\'d be cool if it ran...
94 Camaro 3.4, Teal, M5 The daily beater

if there is air trapped in the hydraulics (which would be caused by the master running dry) it will not let the slave fully engage the clutch.
i have had it happen before.

Again, I could be misunderstanding the OP, but it appears to me that the problem is occurring when the clutch pedal is released, which means the slave cylinder would not be engaging the pressure plate at all.Last edited by Skinny; 07-15-2010, 11:47 AM.-Travis
99 Trans Am, Pewter, A4 Forged, stalled, and cammed
85 Buick Regal WH1 T-Type It\'d be cool if it ran...
94 Camaro 3.4, Teal, M5 The daily beater

Originally posted by Skinny View PostCorrect, but if your foot is off the pedal, the pressure plate (if operating properly) is fully engaged to the clutch disc. When the pedal is released, the hydraulics are released and no amount of air in the system will cause the slave cylinder to push forward on the pressure plate. If your foot is off the pedal and the pressure plate is not gripping the clutch properly, then the problem is with the pressure plate or the disc.

i believe it was you who helped me bleed it with the mityvac
im taking it as the clutch is slipping when the pedal has already released, and the op is hitting the gas. Im thinking there may be some weird hydraulic thing, and if there is air in the miles it is somehow causing the slave to be pressing the pressure plat fingers and slightly releasing the clutch

Re: clutch sometimes slipping
ok what is a mityvac? and yes it is after i get on the throttle and i do feel the clutch is slow to engadge when ever i do a quick shift. it just seams slow to me although i know i am still getting used to this light clutch. i did bleed it again normally and its slightly harder then before (or at least my gf said that cause i used to think my brothers stage 2 clutch was light but i have felt a slight difference too).
