    Throwout bearing noise....

    2000 camaro.... when you push the clutch in it makes a "whirring" noise... when foot off the pedal everything is fine, in every gear.


    sounds almost like a power steering pump.



    Any ideas on cause? I am sure fix is to replace it but well... not interested in doing that at the moment.


    I think the car sat for a little bit and was near the ocean. Maybe surface corrosion on it?

    our 1998 made that noise since summer; now we need master cylinder, and maybe slave cyl
