  • 4l60e/t5 question

Hey guys. I recently aquired an 89 s10 2.8l 2wd that I want to make 4x4 and swap a 3800 II in. My question is can you mate a transfercase to either of these trannys? I know this is the wrong place to ask a question like this, but I figured if anyone would know it'd be you guys. Thanks a lot.

You can to the 4L60E. You have to change the output shaft and have the correct case/ adapter for the 4 or 6 blot tail shaft.

        Re: 4l60e/t5 question

Ok, I read on another forum that my motor wouldn't bolt up to a 4wd 4l60e, then read another post that said the 3.8 is a 90* motor (which I already knew), with a 60* bell housing bolt pattern. So I guess a 4wd tranny will work after all. Thanks for the input guys and I'm sorry for cluttering the forum with unrelated material. Y'all can delete if you want.
