  • Lack of Throttle Response?

Car: 2000 Pontiac Firebird 3800 Series II V6 A4 w/Chrome Intakes CAI & Magnaflow Catback Exhaust

NOTE: Transmission was replaced in mid 2009

I'm just going to do the best I can to explain what the problem is.

I press the gas pedal to accelerate (while already coasting), the car is hesitant, the engine wont go above 2K RPMs. I have to release and press again several times before it finally goes above 2K. It seems like a rev limiter at a low RPM lol, but it does eventually go up. The problem happens every other time i press the gas pedal though. The issue is mainly in stop-and-go traffic. It has nothing to do with the pressure applied or the floor mat. If you have any other questions or if I left something out, feel free to say.

    Plz help

This happened to me with my 99 S-10. Wound up being a clogged fuel filter.

        Re: Lack of Throttle Response?

Wondering what you found out about this issue last year when you posted? I am having a similar issue, but my fuel pump/filter is less than a year old. Seems like my transmission cannot decipher between drive and overdrive...RPM's stay the same either way and that shouldn't be happening. I can't seem to get enough juice while on the Interstate. I hit the floor and the car should take off, but it barely cranks up to speed.
