Your pinion angle is controlled by the torque arm. If your torque arm isn't
adjustable, there's not much you can do.

The are a few ways to check it. Google it and figure out which way makes
the most sense to you.

A symptom of it being off is a pulsing vibration.

Sorry Mike I had a real busy day yesterday so I didn't get to post back.

Yes if it was a factory 10 bolt, as the mount would be in the stock location.

But this is an 8.8 and how do we know that the mount is located in the exact factory location?

We don't so it needs to be checked.

I would purchase an angle finder...you might be able to pick up the angle where the torque arm is mounted to the rear with the two through bolts, as it might be the flattest place to get a reading, or the top of the diff?

I'd measure off the pinion flange. You'll probably have to pull
the driveshaft.

He actually welded on a torque arm bracket provision for the f-body...he told me that the bracket moves the torque arm over 1", which is what the aftermarket torque arms do anyways, so everythings ok there.

Took it down to my buddy and he seems to think that the pad on the drivers side rear is crooked in there...must be getting hung up, because I've had that off several times now...but it seems to be the only pad that is only wearing on the top half (easier to see now because Ive drive a few hundred miles with it)

I'll take it apart and swap on my spare lower caliper bracket tommorrow when I get home from work, see if that fixes it.

Other than that, took it for a 2 hour trip this weekend and she held up beautifully...don't remember having this much vibration, but this could be from the brakes as well. Everything else seems ok...I'll swing it back to the shop after I swap my stuff over in the morning and try and rectify the brake issue...

I tell ya, I took in alot of attention in Niagara this weekend...first time I've driven her with the windows down since the new cam install to...she is LOUD...alot louder than when I had the ARH cam in there...sitting at a light is amazing though :D

Moving the torque arm mount over laterally an inch is fine. But if the angle
the bracket is welded on the rear at is off 1-2 degrees, it could be enough to
cause a vibration.

well, took off the passenger side brake and turns out the pad was wearing crooked a bit...so I swapped brackets...took her back out for a spin and she still makes the chikchikchikchik noise but its quieter and less pronounced...minimal vibration...I want to say that the vibration is due to the winter tires being on at the moment...but this brake issue is driving me up the wall...I see some scratch marks on the rotor to, but I cant for the life of me see anything that could put the scratches in (theyre superficial, cause I cant feel them with my nail, but they go right around the rotor ...they are located in the middle-ish area of where the pad would be to...

Anyone think the sound might go away as the pad now evenly wears itself? Someone mention to me it would, I can't wrap my head around that though, because no part of the pad should be bigger than what it was originally, so that would mean the pad would always rub originally??

Did you use the shims when you installed the axles?

no shims...the shims were thick that came with the axle (and they were optional, I'd say they're about 5mm thick)...I think those are way to big and the rotor wont sit on the face of the axle anymore.

When I didn't use the shims I had a noise from the rear esp. when turning. Probably totally different issue though.

Mine's like that. Turns out the mechanic that installed it was inept and lost the stock shims. I had to bring a box of different shims from the dealer for him to use.

I forgot the shims the first time and just cut them to where I could slide them in without taking the axle back off.

The shims I have are C chaped so no need to tale axle out...thought though...what does brake chatter sound like? I never put that lube stuff on the back of the pads...maybe that's an issue? I'm pulling strings now lol...

Your fine, I never use the stuff and mine hasn't made any brake issue other than the shims. Although I plan on doing LS1 brakes up front here soon.
