My car has been making a noise in the rear. It sounds like tire road noise and like a wheel is wobbling or something. I have tried two different sets of wheels. I now have the factory wheels with brand new tires and it still makes noise. It rides smooth and I have looked everything over. Could it be bearings?

Re: bad axle bearings?
no, no vibration. the brake pads are fairly new. I jacked up the rear and was pulling on the wheels, I get a little bit of movement when I pull in and out on the wheel. Is that normal?2000 Camaro 3.8 v6 M5

Re: bad axle bearings?
My fronts are doing that.. I thought it was just my tires but I've been wondering about them lately. They've been doing it for a while now and haven't seemed to have gotten any worse.
However, if you do have to change your rear bearings it isn't very hard. The only special tool you'll need is a slide hammer.
Btw, what kind of rotors do you have?

Re: bad axle bearings?
In the back, I still have the stock rotors. They are getting thin so I'll have to replace them soon. Up front, I have kvr blanks.2000 Camaro 3.8 v6 M5

Re: bad axle bearings?
They have those "repair kits" What they are is.. just a set of bearings with a sort of spacer to make the bearings ride on the axle at a different point in case the original area was damaged. Someone from autozone sold those to me not knowing any better, and I didn't know any better either but they're working just fine. I was pulling my hair out trying to find this "clunk" after I changed out my differential when it was just a bolt on the panhard bar not torqued down properly.

Re: bad axle bearings?
That's making me wonder because I'm getting a slight wobble feeling and I had my differential and gears changed couple thousand miles ago.Wait, Is that a V6 or V8?
