Today I had time to get my trans out of my 2000 to see what's wrong with it, I know its not the slave or a throw out bearing, I'm thinking its a bent rod. So I unbolted the trans from the bellhousing and it will not come out. There is no bolts left in, everything is disconnected but she just wont come out. Any ideas? Or dose the bellhousing have to come out as well? Im stumped and frustrated

Re: Trans WON'T come out.
the transmission wont come out unless you unbolt the bellhousing because the slave is bolted to it through the bellhousing.
you can put the trans bolts back in and disconnect the bellhousing. you are going to need a ton of extensions though to get the top bolts out

Re: Trans WON'T come out.
Bellhousing needs to come out with transmission. You need to get all the bolts the top 2 are not that bad just get a wobble extension for the top 2 bolts and a couple of extensions to bring it down maybe 2 feet max.
Just go to harbour freight and buy a pack of extensions and a pack of wobbles probably less then $15. Even after that it is still a pain. The dowels are on the 2 bolts just below the top ones.
