  • Installing poly transmission mount

I'm going through the install in my head. I have the mount and poly swaybar bushings, hopefully they'll work fine. What are we supposed to use for the stud to connect the mount to the cross member?

Rather unfortunate that it's down at the current time...
Anyone have an answer? I'd really like to get this done soon.

I just opened the how to for the poly mount. Works fine.

I'm still getting a 404 error for the turbofirebird.com site.
Reckon you could copy the instructions for me? I've tried different browsers to see if that's the problem, but I don't know...

                Re: Installing poly transmission mount

Got done with the install today, I had to trim down the crossmember quite a bit. It's all good now, took me about 3 hours to do (I'm a slow worker). Shifter doesn't bounce around at all anymore, but vibration like a motha whenever I'm accelerating. I used poly sway bar bushings, hopefully they'll hold up.

Does the vibration go away after a while?

I'm hoping so. Mile 20 or so, so far. We'll see.

the viberation will not fully go away but as long as you don't lug the engine you will not notice them.

                        Re: Installing poly transmission mount

I used stock rubber bushings and their alot more forgiving. No vibration with the M5 or A4.

Just a parts store buy? Or is that dealer?

                              Re: Installing poly transmission mount

Idling, I get very little vibration, if any. Now accelerating, I get lots of vibration at certain rpm.
