so im driving my 98 with the t5 tranny in it and for some reason for the last couple weeks all of a sudden 1st 3rd and 5th gear wont work it simply wont shift in. or itll be 2nd and 4th just kinda alternates around. seems to happen after longer periods of driving just that ive noticed. any suggestions what it is clutch or syncros in the tranny?

that sounds like a fork issue, or a shifter issue. I wish there were more i could offer, never heard of that before.Team NoVa

It could be the pilot bushing in the back of the crank where the input shaft of the trans stabs into the crank. Unfortunately you have to pull the trans to get at it.

Be sure you tighten them down!
