So I am getting the firebird ready for this year that i purchased in Oct... It had a rear wheel bearing noise so I took it all apart and replaced the bearings on both sides... Before reinstall i checked the axles and the previous owner drove on the bad bearing for sooooo long they destroyed the axle. The surface where the axle rides on the bearings is all chewed up and ground away. Cant be reused... Called GM and a new one is $348! Cant spend that right now. There are a few for sale on ebay but I dont know what I need. What is the difference between a 3 channel ABS and a 4 channel ABS axle??? How can I ID what mine is??? Cant get one form a junkyard because they refuse to split up a diff. Go figure.. Also, I am assuming our cars use a 8.5 10bold diff. Is that correct??? Any help would be appriciated guys!

Re: Screwed and need help!!!
Ok, so i found out what 3 and 4 channel abs means... In a 4 channel the abs controls each wheel indepnedantly. In a 3 channel it controls the front wheels independantly but the two rears are together. My car only has one brake line going to the rear and a single sensor on the diff so it looks like its a 3 channel system. but is it a 8.5 or a 7.5 10bolt???
