• Gas pedal, meet lead foot: clutch broken in!

And WOW!!!

I've driven plenty of Centerforce-equipped cars before but this just blows them all away!!!

I finally racked up 500 miles of grandma-style driving since the clutch/3.42's/Zexel-Torsen, so tonight I went out for a spin. Full throttle (still NA)... that speedo needle just kept climbing and climbing. I've always prided myself in being a quick shifter, but now its neck-snapping! Incredible!

The clutch is smooth to engage around town; it feels almost like the stock one, but when you punch it and shift at full acceleration it just jumps into gear in a fraction of a second. Its like the clutch knows that you're shifting in a hurry and it just snaps right into the next gear.

Road test phase 1: complete, success.

Road test phase 2 will be later this month with the 15-psi charger finally re-installed. Let's see how well it holds down the torque.

Boo-yah!!!

Sounds nice
But....I have an auto....so you'll have to have the fun for me with the new clutch.

What type? Spec or Centerforce? I'm sure Specs are just as fun.

Cool stuff. The real test will be the Centerforce w/ the boost.

My buddy put a centerforce DF on his 1995 Z28 when he had it and that thing held real nice. But 15psi of boost on a 6 will put out a little more power than an LT1...

"Bone-jarring" comes to mind.

Stage 5? Why? You do realize the Stage 5 clutch has no spring? Its solid--there is no such thing as "feathering" or "riding" that clutch.

As I think I've mentioned before, you'll blow the transmission long before then. The T5 is only rated to 325 ft-lbs. Stage 3 or Dual Friction clutch is all any 3.8 owner needs...
