Yes, an installation kit will give you all of the parts that you will need to install that unit. I do love that picture on the SLP website. It shows the torsen unit WITH carrier bearings installed on it but then IF you read the fine print, it says that carrier bearing are not included. I would not re-use the carrier bearings that are already in the rear end. Make sure to get the kit that includes the carrier bearings.

You don't HAVE to buy that install kit, when I ordered my SLP LSD, it came with the carrier bearings but they where completely trashed, all bent up and such. I had to replace them so I took it to a differential shop and they pressed on some new ones for 45$. Those install kits are for installing a new gear set. You should be fine with the bearings you already have and I know most people on the board use the ones that are already mounted on the SLP take off if there in good shape. It might be a good idea though if your car has high miles to go ahead and get that kit, just to be safe and know everything is like new again but its not necessary for the whole kit for the install. Good luck and enjoy the posi

well I got the carrier bearings and races through a timken dealer (timken is the company that auctually manufactures the carrier bearing and races) for just over $25. If you go to www.timken.com and look for a dealer near you I am willing to bet you could do much better than any place online. Usually these places are industrial machine parts stores and really don't have that great of a markup on this stuff as much as a regular auto parts store does.

I'm about to do a post on my installation from this weekend. That might help you some.

Yes, AZv6 is right. I thought you were also changing gears.

p.s. I saw in your website that you have the Y87 package. Don't they come with the LSD and gears already?
