  • Driveline Slack, HELP!

I've got a nasty cluck after braking and I accelerate and the car downshifts it cluncks nasty. It also does when shifting sometimes(easy slow shifts, not hard upshifts). Any ideas?

    Possibly u-joints.

Get under there and see if there is any play with the drive shaft.

If its the U-Joints is it something I can fix or does it require a trip to a transmisson shop? Thanks for your help!

if its the u jonts.. you can just tigten them up.. or if they are totaly jacked you can replace your drive shaft with an aluminum one..

its probably something in your tranny..

u-joints are easy to replace. All the bad ones I've seen had the roller bearings inside the caps turn to dust. There is usually some type of retaining clip on the caps, from there you can press them out using a socket that will fit inside the hole the cap fits into, then press it out with the vise until you can remove the cap.

Thanks guys it did help! All they needed was to be tightened up! Not really sure how they loosened in the first place!
