  • whats my gear!??

    I have a 97 base model......does that come with 3.08s?? or 3.23s? If I upgrade to a 3.42, what kinda gains can I expect?? Thanx guys
    SLP CAI, RK Sport headers, P&Ped heads and intake, GT2 cam, Upgraded valvetrain, Z28 rear axle with 4.10s Tx Spd tune, Z06 rims, 2.5\" exhaust to flowmaster, 160* thermo, B&M ripper, upgraded ignition, rockford fosgate 12\" with sony xplode amp and HU.

    I think it depends on whether or not it is a manual or automatic.

        look inside your drivers side door for the RPO codes. look for the one that says GU then a number. come back and look in the tech database or post the number and we can tell you.

          GU6= 3.42

          GU5= 3.23

          GU4= 3.08

            thanx, u said that the code is on the inside of the driverside door?? like where the fuse box is??

              no its actually on the door itself. open the door and where it latches to the body of the car should be a sticker with a bunch of letters and numbers all alphabatized. look for it there.

                  There should be a white sticker with a bunch of three letter/number digits.

                        I thought on pre 98's the codes were listed in the glove box.

                            Yup, I have the 95 model and they are listed in the glove box. Look for the GU and then the #. I have GU5 so therefore I have 3.23. But I'm gonna upgrade to 3.42 gears cuze I hear they are the best for overall.
