car trouble, not shifting into 3rd on A4

first my car wouldnt shift into 3rd today (A4 trans), then i started it after it was sitting for awhile, and it wouldnt even shift to second, it just revs up like neutral. i put it in second gear on the gear selection, and drove it home at 3.5k rpms going 40mph. here are some of my speculations as to what is wrong:
1. I put sea foam in my car about 10 days ago into the vacuum hose and the rest into the gas tank (which was probably 2 ounces at most)
2. I changed transmission fluid and filter about 1 month and a half ago. right after i did this, it seemed like when i was going about 35mph and hit the gas, it would rev up more than it was supposed to before it shifted (almost like it was in neutral for a second, but it would shift before i got too high in the rpms). well it did this for a week or two, and it either stopped or i got used to it. And yesterday and earlier today, i noticed it was doing the same thing except worse, it would rev higher and then kind of jolt you when it shifted. also, the trans fluid might have been a little low b/c i didnt measure it and there isnt really a way to tell. (i put another quart of fluid in and no difference)

you can put too much fluid in that is bad also, if thats not the case then your tranny just might be on its way out, if i were you i would go to my mechanic or somebody who knows a lot bout trannies and tell them bout it

I changed the filter on my frineds camaro and his tranny took a dump. IT was a little messed up before, but afther it was totally dead. No 1st or 4th gear.
