  • Installed One Peice Drivetrain....Help?

My carrier bearing broke on my 2 peice driveshaft, had to get it fixed...so I was like...hey...might as well get a one peice. Did...drove it some already...Wow..major differnce...but on when I launch at hight rpms...I'm getting wheel hop...is this normal?

That should be solved by your LCA's and Panhard Rod. If you got some cheaper ones...replace them. Consider a Torque Arm also.

Well my pan hard rod are hotchkis, and if my car didn't come stock with LCA's...don't have it :D

I have ABUNCHA hotchkis stuff all over my rear end. I'll have to double check if i have torque arms..

A take off LSD also helped to kill a lot of my wheel hop.

The Manual V6 stock is the worst at wheel hop. When you make the power more efficient with a 1-piece driveshaft - it makes it even more worse!!! I had wheel hop till the cows came home. Then I got posi and it reduced my wheel hop to that of a stock Z28. My next step will be a toss up between lower control arms, and/or subframe connectors. With those the wheels should stay planted. But won't make awesome 60-foots without more work still. But it'll be the what you are after.

So from what I can tell....the wheel hop on our M5 are so bad /w the one peice drive shaft (which rocks!..not the wheel hop, but the power vs the two peice..2 hp to the rear wheels from what the tranny guy told me), even with LCA's, Panhard Rod, Rear Sway, etc...unless you have LSD...you're screwed?

I had nasty wheel hop. I got poly Lower Control Arms from BMR and it all went away. It is a WORLD of difference launching on poly LCAS than on the stockers. So much smoother.
