• 1LE tranny mount fitting?

i know this was asked before but it seems like most people here didn't have a perfect fit when installing the 1LE tranny mount... what's the reason behind this? shouldnt the 1LE tranny mount just fit right in without any drilling? does the 1LE tranny mount only fit perfectly in certain year models? i had mine in the garage for almost a year and i'm about to go and install it tomorrow morning...

you are gonna have to open the hole in the cross member up a little.. and if you want to make it right and prevent driveshaft vibration you are gonna need to raise the tranny an additional 1/2" because the new mount is gonna make the tranny sit that much lower..

this is to correct pinion angle problems.. has nothing to do with the additional vibration that is inherent with a harder mount..

What do you use to open the hole up with?

I used a drill bit, but now that I think about it I originally opened the hole up to put in a poly mount, the 1LE came later so you likely will not have to open the hole up for a 1LE mount....

I'd be pretty sure at this point that you likely won't have to open the hole but proably not a bad idea to have a drill and a big ready just in case..

I originally did this over 2 years ago and I have killed many a brain cell between now and then..

i just took a quick look underneath the car, i'm gonna go back and take a crack at it, but i don't have a drill handy on me right now, i guess i'll go take a chance without it now since i got some time...
