  • anyone w/ high stall converter look inside

I recently did my engine and tranny build-up and swap and now I'm curious if my tranny is going or just effects of stall, the stall is supposed to be around 2600-2800. When ever I'm cruising around at any rpm lower than 2400 rpm's it seems as though my car slightly revs up and down like maybe 100 rpm's or so, anyone have a clue what that might be?

Sounds like a very loose converter to me, or a damaged one.

your rpms shouldnt be jumping at the same speed on flat ground!

With a loose converter (ie, higher stall) at certain speeds the transmission may downshift very easily. Sometimes if I tap the gas just a little at a certain speed, the car will downshift. If this is whats happening to you, then its nothing to worry about. Get on level ground to test at different speeds, and make sure you keep the throttle in the same position so as not to make it downshift.
